Industrial Survey
The Industrial Survey is a monthly business opinion survey designed to capture trends in industrial activity and expectations of entrepreneurs. Carried out since 1998 and currently conducted in partnership with 25 Federations of Industry, the Industrial Survey generates results by company size, geographic regions and activity sectors of Manufacturing and Mining and quarrying industries.
Industrial activity begins 2025 with a milder than usual decline
In January 2025, industrial production experienced a milder contraction than is typically observed for the period. Meanwhile, the number of employees remained virtually stable, in contrast with the usual decline seen in January. Additionally, Capacity Utilization saw an increase, remaining at an elevated level, while inventories declined, falling below the sector's planned level. Against this backdrop, sectoral optimism strengthened in February 2025.
