Time: 09:30 to 17:00

Bioeconomy is the generation of income and wealth from the development of products derived from biological resources through the use of innovative technologies. According to data from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Bioeconomy created 18 million jobs and moved EUR 2.3 trillion in the European Union in 2015.

As a mega-diversity country, Brazil has a great advantage when betting on Bioeconomy as a path to sustainable development. With 20% of the world's total biodiversity, 12% of freshwater reserves, 8.5 million km² of territory, and 3.6 million km² of maritime area, the challenge is to add value and turn these comparative advantages into competitive ones.

The Forum on Bioeconomy and the Brazilian Industry is an initiative of the Brazilian National Confederation of Industry aiming to discuss the opportunities and challenges associated with Bioeconomy, focusing on greater efficiency in the use of natural resources and the appropriate implementation of industrial technologies and processes.

At the Forum, national and international experts will discuss the perspectives of Bioeconomy as a development strategy for Brazil and the world, considering the business opportunities that add new values and bring greater competitiveness for the industry.
