ICEI - Industrial Sectors
The ICEI, as a precursor index of industrial performance, signals changes in industrial production trends. The survey that gathers the necessary information to the construction of the ICEI is made in conjunction with the Industrial Survey and the Construction Industry Survey. The ICEI – Industrial Sectors displays results from the mining and quarrying, construction and manufacturing industries, as well as their sectors. The publication also makes confidence indexes available for the three company sizes (small, medium and large) and for the five geographic regions of Brazil.
Industry confidence experiences widespread drop in December
In December 2024, there was a widespread drop in industry confidence. The fall affected 27 out of 29 sectors, all regions of Brazil, and businesses of all sizes (small, medium, and large). With the decline, 16 out of 29 industrial sectors, the Southeast and South regions, and small and medium-sized industrial businesses shifted from confidence to lack of confidence between November and December.
